Director of Young People’s Ministries
Director of Young People’s Ministries connects individuals with one another, the church, and God by equipping young people aged 12-35 and for those in ministry with them as disciples of Jesus Christ. The DYPM nurtures faith development for life-giving ministries where influence and worth connect the diverse experiences of youth and young adults in First United Methodist Church Leavenworth ministries and our community.

*Assess, plan, organize and supervise youth programs at FUMCL that Provide Christian fun and fellowship. This includes supervision of the Youth Coordinator.

*Secure, train and supervise teachers and facilitators for FUMCL Young People’s Ministries, mission trips, retreats and other activities.

*Support Young People and their families.

*Promote the Young People’s ministries in the church, the local community, and the broader world.

*Minister to young people and family members as needed by being available for listening, and when called upon, providing support.

*Perform duties as Contemporary Worship Leader supporting the Senior Pastor in leading worship and being responsible for casting vision around creative expression into the worship experience. This responsibility is shared with the Director of Sacred Arts Ministries.

*Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree and training in ministry, youth or Christian Education from a recognized college.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30,000.00 to $40,000.00 /year

Volunteers encouraged!
Samaritans Buffet serves 400-500 meals to the community on the first Saturday of each month.  We can’t do it without the help of volunteers.  If you are interested in helping with this or other community ministries, please contact the office at 682-5374.

We are currently looking for more volunteers to serve as greeters or ushers for our Sunday worship services.

Our staff holds their weekly devotion and staff meeting on Tuesdays and  have to lock the offices if we don’t have someone to greet people and answer questions during that time.
If you are available on Tuesday morning and can field calls and walk-in traffic for our office, we’d love to have you come in and talk to us about it
